PermitZap offers multiple ways to create your account:
Email Address
- Visit permitzap.co (opens in a new tab)
- Click Sign Up
- Enter your email address
- Create a password
- Check your email for verification link
- Click the link to verify your account
Google Account
- Click Sign Up with Google
- Select your Google account
- Authorize PermitZap access
- You're ready to go!
GitHub Account
- Click Sign Up with GitHub
- Authorize PermitZap access
- Complete setup
Single Sign-On (SSO): Using Google or GitHub allows for faster sign-up and you won't need to remember another password.

Start with a free account that includes:

What Happens After Sign Up?
Onboarding Flow
After creating your account, you'll see an optional onboarding guide:
- Profile Setup - Tell us about your role (contractor, developer, researcher, etc.)
- First Alert - Create your first AI-powered alert (optional)
- Quick Tour - Brief walkthrough of key features
You can skip onboarding and explore on your own.
Email Verification
If you signed up with email, verify your account:
- Check your inbox for "Verify your PermitZap account"
- Click the verification link
- You'll be redirected back to PermitZap
Didn't receive the email? Check your spam folder. If it's not there, you can request a new verification email from your account settings.
Setting Up Your Profile
After signing up, complete your profile:
- Click your avatar in the top right
- Select Profile Settings
- Add:
- Full name
- Company name (optional)
- Role/title (optional)
- Notification preferences
Organizations (Premium Feature)
If you're signing up for your team:
- Create your personal account first
- Upgrade to Premium
- Create an organization from Workspace
- Invite team members via email
Team members can join your organization and collaborate on:
- Shared document tracking
- Team messaging
- Collaborative permit research
